CA's eTrust Admin r8.1 Certified for Windows Server 2003

ISLANDIA, N.Y., April 18 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Computer Associates International, Inc. today announced that eTrust Admin r8.1, its role- and policy-based user provisioning system for enterprise systems and applications, has been certified for the Standard, Enterprise, and Datacenter editions of Microsoft Windows Server 2003.

eTrust Admin r8.1 met the rigorous requirements of Microsoft's "Certified for Windows" program through VeriTest, the testing division of Lionbridge . The Microsoft Windows Server 2003 certification program sets a high technical standard to identify applications that provide high levels of reliability and integrate effectively with the Windows family of operating systems.

"The certification of eTrust Admin r8.1 for Windows 2003 continues CA's long history of support for successive generations of Microsoft OS technology," said Rob Bernard, general manager, Global ISVs at Microsoft Corp. "CA and Microsoft will continue to work closely together to ensure that our mutual customers can efficiently manage their enterprise IT environments and rapidly respond to the ever-changing needs of the business."

"VeriTest put eTrust Admin r8.1 through a comprehensive analysis," said Katrina Teague, vice president of marketing and solutions at VeriTest. "The system has met important standards, as defined by Microsoft, for a reliable provisioning solution. Certification through VeriTest gives users added assurance that their vital applications will continue to perform at the highest levels."

By providing administrators with complete control of all accounts and resources across systems through a common, intuitive interface, eTrust Admin can significantly reduce the cost of enterprise security operations while helping to ensure optimum control of corporate assets. eTrust Admin can further increase the efficiency of security operations by leveraging customers' existing investments in directory services to deliver highly automated, role-based user account management.

eTrust Admin is a core component of CA's Identity and Access Management Suite, a complete, standards-based solution for automating and integrating identity and access management across enterprise, customer and partner environments.

"As the world's leading provider of cross-platform enterprise security management solutions, CA is proud to add Windows 2003 certification to the long list of selling points for eTrust Admin," said Gavenraj Sodhi, product manager for eTrust security management solutions at CA. "This certification provides Microsoft customers with the assurance that eTrust Admin can effectively address their increasingly complex service provisioning requirements on the Windows 2003 platform."
